First of all, I am grateful to Manali for sending this copy to me which gave me a chance to explore this new kind of genre for me. April 2021 becomes the month of exploring the next level of my reading journey, i.e. e-book reading. Have the issues with screen reading which was nullified by the short readings. So I finally get satisfied too explore this short romcom (romantic-comedy) novel. The first ever read of this genre.
The story begins in 2014. The entire plot sets in typical and busy, the so-called City of Dream, Mumbai, where the people lands with the bags and heart full of dreams. The beginning of the story itself grabs the attention of the readers through the main character, Ayeshaās poetry recitation, about female infanticide. There the limelight falls on the central character, Ayesha as a smart and achiever.
The story is being narrated with the three main characters who are telling the story from their point of view. There are juggling of each incident between the three main characters, Ayesha, Viren Joshi and Abhi Aggarwal.
Overall, I like Viren Joshi in this story. He stands ahead of the other two main characters. He effortlessly balanced his life with the perfect needle. He stays focused on his life and career without getting any unwanted disturbance even he travels along with it in the story. He genuinely cares for Ayesha and always has his shoulder for her, even he is under his scheduled-undisturbed UPSC preparations. Unlike Abhi, Viren protects and acts as a genuine well-wisher in the life of Ayesha. Even though he had a crush on Ayesha, he respected her decision in her life and being happy for her success where he achieves a ton. True love waits.
It is a compact and short read. The writing style is also simple and lucid. The juggling of events sometimes confuses me who is being mentioned who. But it is not a big deal once you go through the upcoming lines. Using of quotes by the character in the beginning of each sentences is quite interesting to know about what the character is about to face in the chapter.
Recommended for short read and exploring the new genre.
