Oldest Book Challenge

Blogpost by Dhanu

Hey Gems!

Hope you all are safe and doing well!

Life is full of challenges so is my bookstagram feed! And today I take my dear friend, Ani’s oldest bookchallenge in my bookstagram page

Flashback opens🗝️

Before getting into online shopping for books, I used to stroll down to our college road second-hand bookstore and spend my entire afternoon there. Once I enter there, I will return back with the huge pile of books in my bag! Amma used to give her warning stares to stop me. But what I did was, I drag my Appa with me where she can say nothing about my hoarding habit! Soon, to my surprise, Appa started to love the time of being with me in that second-hand bookstore where once my life turned upside down!

The place is a real heaven of my life in those time, I mean before the pandemic! Where we always landed up to find the real gem of love from the former owners of those books. And to the extent, I expanded my hunt of those gems to nearby districts too with no guilt. Of course with Appa! Those are beautiful days which I long to go back.

And Ani’s challenge brought back the memories from my shelf which is filled with loads of old second-hand books. Among those, I got the copy of ‘A Short History of Time by H. G. Wells’ with its peculiar smell of time that the book carries through all these years (dated 1953) and another book is ‘Hamlet by William Shakespeare’ which was pre-owned by my PG Professor (reprinted 1971). Other books are some from my hoarded pre-owned books.

I hope that this challenge turned well and now it is my pals turn to take part in this challenge (no pressures) and tag me. I would love to see yours!

Please take part, if I have forgotten to tag you.
