Review Policy – Book Blogger in India

As a dedicated book blogger in India, I have the system of reviewing on multiple platforms. Primarily, I publish my detailed content, either book reviews or other literary content, on my website. Then, I share the shortened version in my Instagram handle and other below-mentioned platforms. There, I share my honest and thoughtful opinions about the books I read.Every book I review gets featured on my blog Dhanu the Literarian, the review section on Amazon India, and often on my Bookstagram (@dhanu_reads). I offer authors and readers multiple avenues to connect with my reviews.
Review Timeline & Book Formats

I prefer physical copies such as paperback or hardcover over digital versions of the books. Therefore, I highly prioritize physical books when accepting review requests. The timeline for publishing a review depends on the book’s length and genre. However, you can generally expect a review within 2 to 3 weeks after I receive the physical copy.

Please note that my reading list is usually full. So, I may take up to a month to complete and publish a review. If more time is needed, I will inform you beforehand.

Genres I Mostly Review

I primarily accept and review books in the following genres:

  • Mythological and Historical Fiction
  • Contemporary, Fantasy, and Romance
  • LGBTQIAAP+ Fiction
  • Young Adult (YA), New Adult (NA), and Adult Retellings

What You Can Expect in My Reviews as a Book Blogger in India?

Every review includes:

  • A brief synopsis of the book
  • Release date (if it hasn’t been published yet)
  • Purchase link for Indian readers
  • My honest opinions on the setting, characters, and plot
  • A spoiler section clearly marked with prior warnings
  • A star rating out of 5

While not every book gets a video review, I try to include videos for most titles whenever possible.

Review Ethics & Approach

My reviews are personal, honest, and constructive. I provide both positive and critical feedback with respect to the book itself. I also understand that, as a reader, not every single book I read will appeal to me.

There can be times when I really can’t finish a book or just don’t like the story enough. In such cases, my review will focus solely on the content without any personal criticism of the author.

For authors and publishers who require reviews to be published on specific dates (before, during, or after release), please notify me as early as possible to accommodate scheduling.

I am also aware that, at times, as a reader, I like to experiment. I pick up new genres or try books that I otherwise wouldn’t normally like to read.
